Trenta‑quatre pacients es van dividir en dos grups (syringoma localized (siringoma localitzat) i syringoma generalized (siringoma generalitzat)). Els pacients eren majoritàriament dones, que representaven el noranta‑set per cent, amb una edat mitjana de 28 anys. Abans de buscar tractament, les lesions havien estat presents durant una mitjana de sis anys. El syringoma generalized (siringoma generalitzat) va afectar principalment el pit i el coll, després els avantbraços, mentre que el syringoma localized (siringoma localitzat) es va trobar principalment a la cara, l'axil·la i la zona genital.
Thirty-four patients were sorted into two groups, localized and generalized syringoma, according to the Friedman and Butler classification. Ninety-seven percent of the patients were females with the mean age of 27.6 years. The mean duration of the lesions before the presentations was six years. Distribution of the generalized syringoma was mainly in the chest and neck followed by the forearms whereas localized syringoma was mostly confined to the face, axilla and genitalia.

El nostre estudi pretenia descriure les característiques clíniques i histopatològiques de seixanta‑un pacients diagnosticats amb siringoma durant un període de quatre anys a la nostra clínica de dermatologia a Corea. Vam trobar que el siringoma afectava predominantment les dones, amb una proporció de 6,6 dones per cada mascle, i que normalment apareixia durant la segona i tercera dècada de vida en més de la meitat dels pacients. El lloc més afectat eren les parpelles (71 %), i les lesions eren majoritàriament del color de la pell (49 %). Vam observar aspectes característics de capgròs en el 56 % dels casos. La hiperpigmentació basal era més freqüent en les lesions de color marró, mentre que la fibrosi era més freqüent en les lesions eritematoses. A més, els quists de queratina eren menys freqüents en els casos de la zona genital.
The purpose of our study was to describe clinical and histopathological features of sixty one patients with histological diagnosis of syringoma over four year period in our dermatology clinic in Korea. Female:male ratio was 6.6:1 with onset of age during 2nd and 3rd decades in more than half of the patients in our study. The most frequently involved site was eyelids (43 cases, 70.5%) and the most common color of lesion was skin-color (30 cases, 49.2%). In 34 cases, characteristic tad-pole appearances (55.7%) were observed. Basal hyperpigmentation was observed more frequently in brown-colored lesion (p=0.005). Fibrosis was observed more frequently in erythematous lesion (p=0.033). Keratin cyst was observed less frequently in genital involved group (p=0.006).
