פרופוליס הוא חומר ליפופילי המופק מצמחים על ידי דבורים. מטרת דיווח מקרה זה הייתה להראות את החשיבות של חומר זה כגורם לדלקת מגע אלרגית. מטופלת בת 21 התלוננה על אקזמה פריורלית וגרד במשך חמש שנים. בחודשים האחרונים הפגיעה התרחבה גם לצוואר. לאחר אבחון של דרמטיטיס מגע, היא הועברה לבדיקת מדבקה. תוצאת בדיקת המדבקה הייתה חיובית מאוד לפרופוליס (++) .

A 21-year-old female patient complained of pruritic perioral eczema for 5 years. In the past months it also affected the neck. After diagnosing contact dermatitis, she was submitted to a patch test with a Latin American baseline series. The result was strongly positive for propolis (++)

○ Treatment ― OTC Drugs
דלקת עור פריוראלית נגרמת לעיתים קרובות על ידי דלקת עור מגע כרונית כתוצאה משימוש במוצרי קוסמטיקה, ולכן מריחת קוסמטיקה סביב הפה אינה מומלצת. נטילת אנטיהיסטמין (antihistamine) ללא מרשם (OTC) עשויה להועיל. טיפול נדרש לרוב במשך מספר חודשים.
