Grover disease , juga dikenal sebagai dermatosis akantolitik sementara, adalah ruam yang muncul berupa benjolan berisi cairan di tubuh bagian atas, terutama pada pria kulit putih berusia lanjut. Sering terasa gatal namun tidak berlangsung lama. Ada 4 pola perubahan jaringan yang berbeda di Grover disease , dan hal ini dikaitkan dengan berbagai penyakit, seperti kanker darah. Laporan ini membahas kasus Grover's disease yang jarang terjadi pada seorang pria kulit putih berusia 80 tahun yang mengalami ruam di dadanya selama tiga hingga empat bulan terakhir. Ia memiliki riwayat tekanan darah tinggi, kolesterol tinggi, radang sendi lutut, refluks asam kronis, detak jantung cepat, kanker prostat sebelumnya, dan sindrom kaki gelisah. Pada awalnya, ia mengalami ruam yang gatal, merah, dan bergelombang, terutama di bagian atas tubuhnya. Meski sudah menggunakan berbagai krim dan losion, gejalanya tidak kunjung membaik. Setelah memeriksakan diri ke dokter kulit dan melakukan biopsi kulit, diagnosis Grover's disease dipastikan. Dia kemudian dirawat dengan krim steroid selama dua minggu.

The patient has a past medical history of essential hypertension, hyperlipidemia, osteoarthritis of the knee, chronic gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), supraventricular tachycardia, status post prostate cancer, and restless legs syndrome. During his initial evaluation, he was found to have a pruritic, erythematous, papular rash most notably along his upper trunk and chest. The patient utilized multiple lotions, emollients, and anti-itch creams with minimal relief of his symptoms and presentation. Following a referral to Dermatology, a biopsy of the rash was conducted, which revealed intraepidermal acantholysis, the hallmark finding for a diagnosis of Grover's disease. Subsequently, he was treated with a topical triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% cream for 14 days.
