ഇത് എപിഡെർമൽ നെവസ് (Epidermal nevus) എന്ന രോഗത്തിന്റെ ഒരു ഉദാഹരണമാണ്. അഞ്ച് മാസം പ്രായമുള്ളപ്പോൾ തലയുടെ വലത് മുൻഭാഗത്ത് മഞ്ഞ പാച്ചുകൾ (yellow patches) കാണപ്പെട്ടു, രോഗി ആദ്യം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. ആറു മാസം പ്രായം എത്തിയപ്പോൾ തലയുടെ വലത് പിൻഭാഗത്ത് ഹൈപ്പർപിഗ്മെന്റഡ് വെറുക്കസ് പാപുലുകൾ (hyperpigmented verrucous papules) ഉണ്ടായി. കഴിഞ്ഞ അഞ്ചു വർഷങ്ങളിൽ ഈ പാച്ചുകൾ ക്രമേണ വലുതായി, മുഖം, തല, കഴുത്തിന്റെ വലത് ഭാഗം എന്നിവയിൽ മാത്രം നിലനിന്നു. അവ വേദനയോ ചൊറിച്ചിലോ ഇല്ല, രോഗി സാധാരണയായി വളരുന്നു. വലത് കവിളും മുൻഭാഗവും ലഘുവായി ഉയർന്ന മഞ്ഞ പാച്ചുകൾ (yellow patches) തലയുടെ മുൻഭാഗത്തും വശങ്ങളിലുമാണ് വ്യാപിക്കുന്നത്. ഈ പാച്ചുകളോട് ബന്ധിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവ ഹൈപ്പർപിഗ്മെന്റഡ്, വെറുക്കസ് പാപുലുകൾ (hyperpigmented verrucous papules) ആണ്, തലയുടെ വലത് പിൻഭാഗം മുതൽ കഴുത്തിന്റെ വലത് പിൻഭാഗം വരെ ബ്ലാഷ്കോയുടെ രേഖകൾ (Lines of Blaschko) അനുസരിച്ച് വരികളായി കാണപ്പെടുന്നു.
The patient first showed up at five months old with yellow patches on the right front of the scalp. By six months, they had hyperpigmented verrucous papules on the back right side of the scalp. Over the past five years, these spots slowly grew bigger but stayed only on the right side of the face, scalp, and neck. They aren't painful or itchy, and the patient is growing normally. The right cheek and forehead have slightly raised, yellow patches that stretch onto the front and side of the scalp. Connected to these patches are hyperpigmented, verrucous papules, forming lines from the back of the scalp to the back of the neck on the right side.
