Acne vulgaris adalah keadaan kulit jangka panjang yang menyebabkan pelbagai jenis jerawat seperti bintik hitam dan sista. Jika tidak dirawat dengan betul, ia boleh menyebabkan parut. Kajian ini meneroka pelbagai jenis parut jerawat dan cara untuk memperbaikinya. Terdapat tiga jenis utama: icepick, rolling, and boxcar scars , yang berbeza dalam kedalaman dan rupa. Terdapat banyak rawatan yang berkesan, termasuk lasers, radiofrequency, micro-needling, and chemical peels.

In this review, we summarize current knowledge on acne scars and methods for their improvement. There are three types of atrophic scars: icepick, rolling, and boxcar. They are of different depths and widths and have different cross-sections. Scars can combine to form clusters. If acne scars are located on the face, they can reduce the patient's quality of life, leading to isolation and depression. There are multiple effective modalities to treat acne scars. Ablative lasers, radiofrequency, micro-needling, and pilings with trichloroacetic acid have very good treatment results.

Kajian ini meneliti 6 kertas kerja tentang seberapa baik laser pecahan CO2 ultra-nadi merawat parut jerawat yang tertekan. Keputusan menunjukkan bahawa rawatan laser ini lebih berkesan berbanding kaedah lain, membawa kepada hasil yang lebih baik dari segi kadar peningkatan dan bagaimana kulit pesakit yang licin dirasakan.
